Ningbo Zhoushan Port signs over 20 major projects
On Zhoushan River-Ocean Combined Transportation Center Promotion Meeting & Major Project Signing Ceremony held by Zhejiang Provincial Government in the morning of December 28th, 2016, over 20 major projects, including Ningbo Zhoushan Port Freight Collection, Distribution and Transportation System, Huangzheshan Oil Products Trade, Storage and Transport Base, Zhenhai Urban Logistics Functional Area Project, were signed with total investment of 127 billion Yuan. The projects involved multimodal transportation system, bulk commodities storage and transportation system, river-ocean combined transportation information platform, modern shipping services and other field. The signing of these contract will accelerate and advance Zhoushan River-Ocean Combined Transportation Service Center to complete the construction of a modern river-ocean combined transportation service system that is accessible to river and ocean with complete functions and high service efficiency.
On April 19th, 2019, the State Council officially approved to set up Zhoushan River-Ocean Combined Transportation Service Center, which covers the whole new district of Zhoushan Islands, and Beilun, Zhenahi, Jiangdong (present Yinzhou) and Jiangbei District of Ningbo, with land area of about 2500 square kilometers and sea area of about 21,000 square kilometers.The construction of Zhoushan River-Ocean Combined Transportation Service Center mainly includes comprehensively building four functions, including “international first class comprehensive river-ocean combined transport hub port” and “international first class river-ocean combined transport shipping service base”as specified in the official reply by the State Council, forming three major function areas, including“large bulk cargo intermodal transport area” and “container intermodal transport area” and advancing six major tasks and measures, such as “improving bulk commodity and container transit transport system” and “building bulk commodity storage, transportation and processing base”.
