Phase I of Cryogas Vysotsk terminal with annual capacity of 330,000 tonnes is to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2019, Cryogas Director General Ryszard Rudnicki told IAA PorNews correspondent.
According to him, no more than 10% of LNG will be sold in the Leningrad Region.
The deadline for launching the terminal’s Phase II (330,000 tonnes of LNG per year) has not been determined yet.
The project on construction of the terminal for production and transshipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the port of Vysotsk of the Leningrad Region is the largest one in the North-Western Region of Russia. The facility able to produce 660 tonnes of LNG per year will be among the three largest plants in Europe. Finland and Baltic states will be the key sales markets. Apart from LNG transshipment, the terminal will also let arrange bunkering of LNG-powered vessels.
