Tallink Grupp reshuffles its Management Board

Tallink Grupp has this morning announced to the stock exchange that it has made changes to the membership of the group’s Management Board with effect from today, 4 February. Based on the recommendations from the Chairman of the Management Board of Tallink Grupp, Mr Paavo Nõgene, the Supervisory Board of the group appointed Mrs Kadri Land and Mr Harri Hanschmidt to the Management Board late last week.  At the same time the Supervisory Board recalled Mr Janek Stalmeister from the Management Board following his resignation.

From today, the Management Board of Tallink Grupp will operate with five members under the leadership of Mr Paavo Nõgene and will include Mr Andres Hunt, Mr Lembit Kitter, Mrs Kadri Land and Mr Harri Hanschmidt.

Kadri Land has been working in Tallink Grupp since 2005 and, during that time, has held several senior positions within the organisation, including the roles of a Member of the Management Board between 2012 and 2015, and since 2016 the role of the Head of the Group’s Global Operations and Logistics. Between 2005 and 2015 Kadri Land was the CEO of the group’s Swedish subsidiary. Kadri Land has a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Tartu. She is a Member of the Supervisory Board of AS Tallinna Lennujaam (Tallinn Airport) and is the Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Tallink Silja AB. She is also a Member of the Management Board of the Swedish Maritime Employers’ Association and a Member of the Management Board of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia.

Harri Hanschmidt has been working in Tallink Grupp since 2009 and has held the positions of Head of Investor Relations and Head of the Finance Department among other roles during that time. Since 2015 he has held the position of the Group Head of Strategic Projects.  Hanschmidt holds a Master’s degree in Business Informatics from the Tallinn Technical University.  Prior to joining Tallink Grupp he work in various roles in Estonian IT sector organisations.

„The changes made to the Tallink Grupp Management Board today based on my recommendation, are an important step in the development of our company and necessary in order to ensure that Tallink Grupp will be a secure employer, the right choice for our investors and the best service provider for all our customers also in the years to come,“ Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp said.

„I am convinced that we have strengthened our Management Board with two very strong leaders and specialists in their own respective fields. Kadri and Harri both have in-depth knowledge and long-term experience within our organisation and I believe they are an excellent addition to our Management Board,“ Nõgene added.

„Janek Stalmeister’s wish to leave the company’s Management Board and also the company after almost 20 years here in the organisation was probably not an easy decision for him, but I understand his decision and wish him every success for the future. The whole Tallink Grupp family thanks Janek for his long and dedicated contribution to the development of Tallink Grupp over the 20 years,“ Nõgene concluded.

The mandate of Mrs Kadri Land and Mr Harri Hanschmidt begins on 4 February 2019 and lasts for a period of three years.  The mandate of Mr Janek Stalmeister ended on 2 February 2019.
