Rosrybolovstvo: designing of 120-meter long research ship completed with construction to begin in 2020
Designing of 120-meter long research ship is completed, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Ilya Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation - head of Rosrybolovstvo (Russian Federal Fisheries Agency), as saying a the meeting with journalists in Moscow.
According to him, the work is underway on earmarking of resources for 2020 to finance the construction of the lead ship. The resources are to include crab auction payments.
Besides, designing of five mid-size and two small-size research ships is to begin in the nearest time.
Ilya Shestakov emphasized that up to 60% of the Agency’s research fleet would be scrapped within the coming five years due to ships’ depreciation and obsolescence.
