    Port of St. Petersburg eleven-month cargo volumes edge down 1% (update)

    Total cargo throughput in the Port of St. Petersburg in January - November 2020 reached 54.54 million tonnes, which is 1% down on the same period last year, the port authority statistics showed.

    In the reporting period handling of liquid bulk cargo rose 18% to 10.54 million tonnes, while bulk cargo volume dropped by 10% to 7.33 million tonnes.

    Handling of break bulk cargo edged down by 1% to 10.79 million tonnes, of Ro-Ro cargo decreased by 6% to 1 048 400 tonnes, of bulk cargo – fell by 17% to 235 300 tonnes, including forestry products - by 41% (227 700 tonnes).

    Container throughput also fell by 6% to 1 922 628 TEUs.

    In 2019 Port of St. Petersburg throughput was 59.87 million tonnes, container volume - 2.22 million TEUs.
