  Austal USA разработает автономные решения для строящегося военно-транспортного корабля ВМФ США

  Компания Austal USA (американское подразделение австралийской судостроительной компании Austal) получит дополнительно $44 млн, в рамках изменений в условиях предварительного контракта, на проектирование, закупку материалов, внедрение в производство и демонстрацию автономных возможностей на 13-м военно-транспортном судне класса катамаран для переброски войск и техники между театрами военных действий USNS Apalachicola (EPF 13) , говорится в сообщении судостроительной компании.
  
  На производственных площадках Austal USA строится серия из 15 быстроходных военно-транспортных судов класса Spearhead для ВМС США. С декабря 2012 года военному ведомству уже передано двенадцать судов типа EPF. Тринадцатое судно-катамаран в настоящее время находится в стадии строительства на верфи Austal USA в Мобиле (шт. Алабама).
  
  Характеристики судна класса Spearhead: алюминиевый корпус катамарана имеет в длину 103 м, грузовая палуба – 1,8 тыс. кв. м с палубой для посадки и взлета среднего транспортного вертолета и местами для размещения 300 и более морских пехотинцев.
  
  Эти военно-транспортные катамараны были спроектированы и построены компанией Austal для поддержки различных задач – от операций по обеспечению безопасности на море до гуманитарной помощи и ликвидации последствий стихийных бедствий.
  
  В настоящее время на верфи Austal USA строятся два таких корабля – USNS Apalachicola (EPF 13) и USNS Cody (EPF 14).
  
  В дополнение к программе строительства судов типа EPF Austal USA получила контракт на поставку 19 кораблей береговой обороны (LCS) серии Independence для ВМС США. С 2010 года 13 кораблей из этой серии уже переданы в эксплуатацию флоту США. Церемония имянаречения 15-го судна береговой обороны (USS Canberra) состоялась на верфи Austal USA 5 июня 2021 года.
  
  Судостроительная компания Austal (головной офис — Хендерсон, Австралия), основанная в 1988 году, сегодня является мировым лидером в проектировании и строительстве военных и гражданских судов из алюминия. Судостроительные мощности компании расположены в Западной Австралии, США (Мобил, штат Алабама), Филиппинах (Баламбан) и Вьетнаме (Вунгтау). Austal построила на сегодняшний день более 300 различных судов по всему миру.
