    Украина переименовала приобретенные научные суда

    ОИС ледового класса James Clark Ross и НИС RV Belgica получили новые имена

    Купленное у Великобритании океанское исследовательское судно (ОИС) ледового класса James Clark Ross и подаренное Бельгией научно-исследовательское судно (НИС) RV Belgica получили новые имена в составе украинского флота, передают «Порты Украины».

    Британское судно James Clark Ross получило название «Ноосфера».

    В ближайшее время ледокол будет проходить необходимые процедуры оформления и техобслуживания, после чего планируется его первый рейс на станцию «Академик Вернадский» в Антарктиде.

    Судно James Clark Ross построено компанией Swan Hunter Shipbuilders в Уолсенде и спущено на воду в 1990 году. Ледокол был назван в честь Джеймса Кларка Росса - британского военного моряка и исследователя.

    Belgica переименована в честь директора Института морской биологии и члена-корреспондента НАНУ Бориса Александрова, погибшего в пожаре 2019 года в Одессе.

    В составе базы экспедиционного флота Украинского научного центра экологии моря (УкрНЦЭМ) судно будет использоваться для проведения научных исследований в Черном и Азовском морях.

    Украина получила НИС Belgica в дар от Королевства Бельгии. 13 сентября на военно-морской базе в г. Зеебрюгге состоялась церемония передачи судна представителям УкрНЦЭМ.

    Судно построено в 1984 году, исследовало почти 1 млн км моря и провело более тысячи научных кампаний. Длина НИС составляет 51,12 м, ширина - 10 м, осадка - 4,6 м, водоизмещение - 1200 тонн. Дальность автономного плавания - 20 тыс. морских миль (37 тыс. км) при скорости 12 узлов (22 км /час). Максимальная скорость — 13,5 узлов (25 км/час).
