  Турция согласится только на полноценное членство в Евросоюзе. Как передает ПРАЙМ-ТАСС, об этом заявил накануне по прибытии в Швецию премьер-министр Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган. Это первый подобный визит за последние 30 лет.

  "Наша страна не может принять какую-либо альтернативу, которая предусматривает нечто иное, нежели полноценное членство в союзе", - сказал Эрдоган. По его словам, Турция уже проводит требуемые ЕС реформы.

  Глава правительства также достаточно осторожно прокомментировал возможные изменения в законодательстве Турции, которые могут привести к запрету его Партии справедливости и развития, отметив, что она стремится к развитию демократии в стране.

  Швеция активно выступает за вступление Турции в ЕС, заявил, со своей стороны, на состоявшейся в среду пресс-конференции премьер-министр Фредрик Райнфельдт. "Шведское общество и все семь парламентских партий поддерживают это, - указал он. - Мы не хотим строить новые стены в Европе".

  "Если страна с 70-миллионным населением выразила желание идти по пути демократизации, мы должны поддерживать ее, - продолжил Райнфельдт. - Мы не допустим, чтобы переговоры по этому вопросу зашли в тупик". "Мы должны обеспечить те же самые критерии вступления для Турции, что и для остальных стран, - добавил он. - Во время председательства в ЕС в 2009 году Швеция сделает все возможное, чтобы здесь был достигнут прогресс". Шведский премьер подчеркнул также, что религия не должна стать основанием для разделения Европы.

  Армянский и Ассирийский союзы Швеции, а также проживающие здесь курды провели демонстрации протеста против визита Эрдогана в королевство. Они, в частности, требовали официального признания Турцией геноцида армян.
