Судно MN Colibri доставило в Гвианский космический центр, расположенный во Французской Гвиане (Южная Америка) на побережье Атлантического океана две ракеты «Союз-СТ» и высокотехнологичное оборудование, отгруженное ранее специалистами «Первой стивидорной компании» (входит в группу компаний ОАО «Морской порт Санкт-Петербург) в Большом порту Санкт-Петербург. Как сообщили сегодня в «Роскосмосе», началась разгрузка оборудования.
Гвианский космический центр или Космодром Куру расположен во Французской Гвиане (Южная Америка), в 50 километрах от города Кайена, на побережье Атлантического океана. Центр предназначен для вывода на орбиты геостационарных спутников. Интерес России к космодрому Куру связан с его экваториальным расположением: модернизированная российская ракета «Союз-СТ» сможет выводить на орбиты более тяжелые космические аппараты, чем при запусках с космодромов Байконур и Плесецк.
