He reminded that it is one of 9 projects of investment program implementation of which implies investment of 700 million dollars before 2010 which will ensure cargo turnover at 110 million tons (in 2005 the port handled 80 million tons of cargo). According to Vilinov, reconstruction of Sheskharis will take three stages. At the first one it is planned to carry out overhaul and reconstruction of all technological equipment. At the second one, platform A is to be built at berth 1, which will enable to accept vessels from both sides of the berth simultaneously. On finalization of the new platform construction it is planned to overhaul platform B, built in 1978 and having been maintained for 28 years without any overhaul.
As Vilinov informed, design estimates of the first stage of reconstruction have been completely prepared by today. In the nearest future it is planned to start replacement of main pipeline that is 900 meters long. Auxiliary works on disassembling of old pipeline have been already done for that purpose.
