Nixhegorodskij Teplokhod plant has extended its contract with the Dutch Rensen Shipbuilding BV for construction of the hulls for a bulk carrier under 164-РТ project
Nixhegorodskij Teplokhod OJSC (Bor, Nizhni Novgorod region) has concluded a contract with the Dutch Rensen Shipbuilding BV for construction two more hulls for a bulk carrier under 164-РТ project, RBC says referring to the press service of Marine and Oil-and-Gas Projects group (MNP group), comprising the plant. Contract value is not revealed. Vessel’s length is 110 m, width – up to 11.40 m, depth – 3.65 m, draught – 3.55 m, hull’s weight - 660 tons. The vessel is planned to be used at internal waterways of Europe. Bulk carrier conforms to international norms. It has been designed for transportation of general, bulk cargo including grain, mineral fertilizers, metal, timber, containers of international standard. The contract for construction of three under 164-РТ project was signed with Rensen Shipbuilding in summer 2005. In June 2006 Nixhegorodskij Teplokhod and Rensen Shipbuilding concluded the contract for construction of the forth hull for the river bulk carrier under 164-РТ project. First hull of the bulk carrier was launched on August 28, 2006. The second hull is being assembled on the berth while the blocks of the third hull are assembled in the workshop. The three hulls will be built by the end of 2006 and then sent to Rotterdam for final equipment. The forth hull is planned to be delivered to the customer in May 2007. The stage of metal cutting has started at the plant already.
Nixhegorodskij Teplokhod plant is specialized on manufacture of technical and auxiliary fleet, port equipment and units of marine engineering. Net profit of the plant in 2005 amounted to 12 million 017 thou rubles that is 63.3% more than in 2004. Marine and Oil-and-Gas Projects group (MNP group) manages projects of marine engineering, oil-and-gas equipment, engineering of offshore drilling platforms. The group also includes Krsnoye Sormovo plant (Nizhni Novgorod), Nixhegorodskij Teplokhod plant, Volgograd shipyard, Astrakhan shipyard called after III International, Lotos plant (Astrakhan), as well as central design department Korall (Ukraine) and Friede & Goldman (USA).
