The third phase of the Yantian port complex in Shenzhen (China) has been completed. Project’s total value is $752.80 million. This information has been provided by SchedNet, referring to Xinhua agency. The development consists of four new berths, each with a capacity of 100,000 tons, quay length of 1,400 meters and alongside depth of 16 meters. Berths 12 and 13 are said to be able to accommodate the world's largest containerships. Phase three is expected to be put into operation soon, as it has already passed official inspections, and once up and running, the new phase will raise the total container handling capacity of Yantian port to 7.66 million TEU.
Yantian Port is the second largest deepwater container terminal in China and fourth largest in the world.
