Adm. Makarov State University of Maritime & Inland Shipping hosts Knowledge Day

On September 1, 2014 the solemn meeting dedicated to the Knowledge Day (held in Russia on Sept 1) was held Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime & Inland Shipping (SUMIS).

The event was attended by Konstantin Palnikov, Director of the Department of State Policy for Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Transport Ministry, SUMIS Rector Sergei Baryshnikov, Andrei Sazonov, a spokesperson for the St. Petersburg Government, Alexander Volkov, the Harbourmaster of Big Port St. Petersburg, Igor Rusinov, Dean of the International Transport Management Faculty, Alexander Kirichenko, Head of the University Department of Ports and Freight Terminals, Vadim Prokofiev, a veteran of the University, Associate Professor, the Department of Technology & Transport Management.

During the event, Konstantin Palnikov awarded three students of the Communication & Navigation Faculty, Mikhail Martynov, Victor Mikheyev and Vladislav Potapov with valuable gifts for their contribution to the preparation and holding of the 22nd Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
