Throughput of Leningrad region’s stevedores up 6% to 61.23 mln t in Jan-July 09
In January-July 2009, stevedoring companies of the Leningrad region operating within the water area of ports located in the Gulf of Finland handled 61.23 million tonnes of cargo (+6%, year-on-year)market press center of the regional government says.
The port of Primorsk accounts for the core of the throughput. In the 7-month period, the port exported 45.02 million tonnes of crude and oil products (+3.6%, year-on-year) with Spetsmornefteport Primorsk LLC and Primorsk Commercial Seaport LLC accounting for 42.95 million tonnes of oil (99.4%). Sea terminal of Balttransservis LLC exported 2.07 million tonnes of light oil products.
In the reported period, port Vysotsk handled 10.17 million tonnes of cargo (+5.5%, year-on-year) with oil terminal RPK-Vysotsk LUKOIL-II accounting for 8.25 million tonnes of oil products (+4.6%) and coal terminal Port Vysotsk LLC - form 1.92 million tonnes of cargo (+9.8%).
Ust-Luga port increased its throughput by 36.1%, year-on-year, to 5.39 million tonnes with Rosterminalugol OJSC having shipped 3.89 million tonnes of coal (+15.3%), Ust-Luga Timber Terminal Factor OJSC - 148,200 tonnes of timber (-60.7%). Automobile-railway ferry complex Ust-Luga-Baltijsk-German ports carried 563,300 tonnes of general cargo (up 3.2 times), Universal Transshipment Complex OJSC handled 633,600 tonnes of metal, Multipurpose Transshipment Complex Yug-2 - 18,300 tonnes of ro-ro cargo (automobiles), European Sulfur Terminal OJSC (handling mineral fertilizers) - 131,900 tonnes of cargo.
