In 2016, LLC “Marine Recruiting Agency” (MRA) trained 2 343 specialists in marine, road-building and warehousing trades, which is by 8% more than in 2015, says press center of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg. Such a positive dynamics is conditioned by the fact that MRA has expanded the geography of its activity to the ports of Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Kara Sea and Caspian Sea basins.

The most popular among students are the trades of dockworkers-mechanics, slingsmen and forklift truck drivers. 798 people mastered these professions, which is 2 times more than last year. 202 students got the profession of a longshoreman (mooring man) – by 26% more than in the previous year. 12 students mastered the trade of a tallyman (in 2015 there was no training in this profession). Besides, 19 students obtained a profession of a crane operator and 151 students had a scheduled qualification, which is respectively 14% and 60% less than last year.

The supplementary professional programmes, such as upgrade of skills and re-qualification, were completed by 1030 people - a 9.5% decrease from the last year.

In 2016 MRA has taught port trades to 131 students of marine specialized universities and colleges, which is by 31% more than in 2015. Practical training was held on the territory of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”.

MRA has developed specialized customized programmes for the students of the higher education institutions. On the one hand, these programmes take into account that the students already have basic knowledge, on the other – they allow the students to master additional practical trade.
