Victor Basargin appointed as head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Transport Supervision (photo)
Former Governor of the Perm Territory Victor Basargin has been appointed the head of the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision (Rostransnadzor), says official website of RF Government.
“Taking into consideration your quite extensive experience at the Federal level – Minister of Regional Development – and your good knowledge of the regional specificity, I have decided to appoint you as the Head of Rostransnadzor,” said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
According to him, this work covers all types of transport in our country in the context of safe transportation of passengers and cargoes.
This position was previously held by Sergei Saritsky.
Victor Basargin was the Governor of the Perm Territory between 2012 and 2017. His previous position – the Minister of Regional Development. From 2001, Victor Basargin was the Deputy of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District.
