Research ship of Project 11982 built by Shipyard Pella joins RF Navy’s Baltic Fleet
With a ceremonial hoisting of St. Andrew's flag held on 1 October 2018 on board of the research ship of Project 11982 designed by Almaz bureau, the ship built by Shipyard Pella (Leningrad Region) and named Ladoga has officially joined the Baltic Fleet of RF Navy, says the shipyard.
The ship is intended for conducting research and oceanographic survey and participation in rescue operations.
Ship characteristics: length max – 63.08 m, width max – 10.8 m, draught max – about 3.8 m, speed max – about 12.0 knots, range – 1,000 miles (with economic speed of 10 knots), endurance – 20 days, crew – 16, expedition – 20 members.Leningrad Shipyard Pella was founded in 1950 and privatized in 1992. The holding incorporates a head company and a number of subsidiaries. The shipyard specializes in construction of tug boats for Russian customers.
