Cargo transportation by Ukrainian railways up 20.5% in Jan. 07, y-o-y

According to State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, volume of railway cargo transportation totaled 38.5 million tons in January 2007 (+20.5%, year-on-year) with cargo turnover amounting to 20 billion t/km (+18%), RZD-Partner reports. January share of dispatched cargo amounted to 30.6 million tons (+19.8%, year-on-year 2006). In January 2007, all regional railways demonstrated growth of cargo turnover: South-West - +25.8%); Donetsk - +20.7%; South - +18.4%; Lvov - +16.9; Transdnestria - +14.6%, Odessa - +13.9%. The sector of dispatched cargo demonstrated the following growth: South-West - +50%; Odessa - +43.2%; Lvov - +32.4%; South - +18.2%; Transdnestria - +17.2%; Donetsk - +14.5%.
