End of ice escort period announced for Russian part of the Gulf of Finland

With the end of the ice escort period, the Headquarters for Icebreaking Operations (HIO) stops its activities from April 10, 2014, HIO says.

The Gulf of Finland features ice-free water and separate floating ice. 

In the Vyborg Bay and near port Vysotsk - ice-free water and separate floating ice. 

In the Bjorkezund Strait - ice-free water.
