Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port half-year throughput falls 9.1% to 1.35 million tonnes
Cargo volume handled at the terminals of JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) in January-June 2015 dropped by 9.1% on the same period a year earlier to 1,355,700 tonnes, the stevedoring company reports.
Half-year throughput includes 557,400 tonnes of ferrous metals, (+1.0 %), 114,600 tonnes of coal and coke, which represents a 22% decline, 72,000 tonnes of petroleum products (- 17%) and 65,800 tonnes of scrap metal (+5.2%).
Container traffic at the port plummeted by 2.2 times to 34,496 TEUs.
JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the largest enterprise in the port complex of Kaliningrad region. The port is a transport and trade flows hub handling export / import freight traffic passing through the region. In 2014 cargo throughput at Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port totaled 3.357 million tonnes.
