Throughput of Tuapse Commercial Seaport down 7% to 7.2 mln t in HI’2016

In January-June 2016, Tuapse Commercial Seaport handled 7.2 mln t of cargo (-7%, year-on-year), the Company’s press center says.

Due to scheduled maintenance at RN-Tuapsenefteproduct LLC held in January-March 2016, transshipment of oil products in the first half of the year totaled 3.6 mln t, which is 0.9 mln t less as compared with the result of the previous year. The decrease of cargo traffic should be also attributed to complete termination of raw sugar, fruits and vegetables imports amid the market situation.

Positive dynamics was demonstrated in the sector of dry cargo transshipment. In January-June 2016, the port handled 1.4 mln t of coal (+1.6%, year-on-year), 1.1 mln t of ferrous metal (+6.4%) and 1.1 mln t of grain (+65.8%).

Exports that make 100% of the Company’s cargo flow fell by 5.1% to 7.2 mln t.
In January-June 2016, the port handled 296 vessels (129 dry cargo ships and 167 tankers) and 52,200 rail cars (7,700 rail cars more as compared with January-June 2015).
