On January 14, 2017, on the Gadzhievo Northern Fleet submarine forces main base a naval flag-raising ceremony was held on two new 21980 project Grachonok anti-terror vessels. One of them was provided a name of Unarmeec Zapolyarya, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Due to the flag raising, these vessels officially allotted the underwater anti-sabotage forces of the Northern Fleet. By order of the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy one of them was provided with a name : Unarmeec Zapolyarya.
The Northern Fleet experts pointed a high effectiveness of the equipment for providing security and defense of the naval home stations and military facilities, among other from the potential terrorist threat.
