Hong Kong's Kerry to open 10,000sqm logistics centre in Hanoi

HONG KONG's Kerry Logistics will expand its operations in Vietnam by opening a new 10,000-square metre logistics centre in Hanoi in November.

The Kerry Hung Yen Logistics Centre will provide logistics services for the electronics and hi-tech, fashion and garments, food and beverage, and industrial sectors.

The centre is located between Hanoi and the port city of Haiphong, providing direct ocean access to international markets. It has direct highway access to Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport and is close to Hai Duong Inland Container Depot.

"We have invested in developing a national logistics network in Vietnam during the last few years and the new Hanoi facility completes our coverage of the key industrial areas in north, south and central Vietnam," said Robert Tan, Kerry's managing director for south Asia.

"Demand is growing from our customers in Vietnam and around the region for a broad range of logistics services and this new facility demonstrates our commitment to meeting that demand," said Rosa Du, Kerry's general manager in Vietnam.

Kerry opened a logistics centre in Danang in central Vietnam in 2010, whose second phase will be completed this year and provide 10,200 square metres for warehousing and logistics services. It also operates a 62,500-square metre facility in Ho Chi Minh City.
