ZNT yard lays second ice-class tug of TG04M project
ZNT Shipyard laid down the keel on September 13, 2011 of the Portovy-2, the second ice-class towboat of project TG04M ordered by MMC Norilsk Nickel, the shipbuilding firm said Tuesday.
The serial towboat built under the program of modernization of the fleet of Norilsk Nickel’s Polar Transport Division. The towboat is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2012 to the port of Dudinka.
The Portovy-2 was designed for operation in the waters of Dudinka port in the harsh environment (temperature range +25 º C, -30 º C). The lead ship of the series, Portovy-1, the first of a new generation of river towboats and pusher tugs, was delivered to the Customer in September 2009. The vessel replaced a Norilsk Nickel’s tug built in 1969.
