Ust-Luga Oil Terminal to be commissioned in November
A terminal for transshipment of crude oil at the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region, the terminus of BPS-2 pipeline) will be commissioned in November 2011, a Russian official said Tuesday.
Deputy Ministry of Transport Viktor Olersky told the Russian-Dutch Logistics Forum, which opened today in Rotterdam, that the port will be able to accommodate Suezmax tankers of displacement of up to 150,000 tons.
The project "Baltic Pipeline System 2", on the route Unecha - Ust-Luga is implemented in line with the Russian government’s order (November 26, 2008). The project includes the construction of the 1000 km pipeline (traversing Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad regions of Russia) of first phase capacity of 30 million t/y and second phase - 50 million tons, five pumping stations, as well as reconstruction of the existing pumping stations - Unecha" and Andreapol. The pipeline network runs through the territory of Customer-developer of the Ust-Luga Export Oil Terminal is Ust-Luga Bunker Complex Ltd.
