Pertamina's first FSO starts working offshore Madura
Pertamina's first floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel Abherka started operations this week at the West Madura Offshore Block in East Java, Seatrade Asia online reports.
Indonesian state upstream oil and gas regulator BP Migas and the state oil and gas firm said at the start of operations that the new FSO has a capacity of 600,000 barrels of oil per day, and will serve the West Madura Offshore Block's 77 wells The vessel will be operated by Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore.
The Cosco-converted vessel can accommodate 150 workers and is designed to operate in the field for 10 years.The West Madura block is currently targeting a production of 20,000 barrels of oil per day and 166.4 million cubic feet per day of gas. The gas produced is sent to state utility firm PLN, Gresik Migas and fuel tank producer and fuel distributor Media Karya Sentosa. This helps provide guaranteed gas supply for power generation and industrial needs in East Java, BP Migas and Pertamina added.
