Funds for a HSV contract may go down the drain, Pacifico Marine says
A Vladivostok-based private shipbuilding company Pacifico Marine has filed a claim with the Vladivostok police alleging the misuse of funds of the state budget of the Russian Federation in the amount of 120 million rubles. The money was transferred in several installments through the Primorsky Territory Administration to finance the construction of catamaran CD342/02, the shipbuilding firm said in a statement.
The high-speed passenger vessel has been built by LLC Pacifico Marine under contract with the State Unitary Enterprise "Gosnedvizhimost" for transportation of participants of the Summit APEC-2012 in Vladivostok.
Previously, the company has made several statements about the hostile acts undertaken by the lessor – JSC Vostochnaya Shipyard against its rival Pacifico Marine, so the company could not execute the contract on schedule, which leads to breach of state contract.
The failure of the catamaran delivery is imminent amid the slowness and inaction of the local authorities to consider the claims of Pacifico Marine and to step in the two shipbuilding firms’ dispute will lead to misapplication of the funds allocated for the state contract in the federal budget. Therefore, it does concern public interests, and is not just a dispute between two economic entities, the Pacifico Marine statement said.
