Ministry of Transportation issues draft mandatory by-laws at Vanino Port
Russia’s Ministry of Transportation has issued a draft decree "On Approval of the By-laws at the Port of Vanino."
Sailing ships at the port of Vanino and on approach channels, mooring in the waters of the sea port are performed in accordance with the general rules and regulations hereof.
The seaport is located on the west coast of the Tatar Strait. The harbor waters of the port include the water body in the bays of Vanin, Muchka, in the Tatar Strait from Cape Vesyoliy to Cape Toki and the Bay of Siziman.
Vanino Port has specialized terminals for handling containers, bulk cargo, oil products, timber and general cargoes, including dangerous goods, a terminal for handling alumina, a coal terminal, a ferry terminal for transport rail cars to the port Kholmsk (Sakhalin Island).
The port is accessible year-round and has a permanent cargo crossing point at the state border of the Russian Federation. The port provides towing service for vessels. Port of Vanino also provides icebreaker assistance to ships in accordance with the general rules and regulations.
