Typhoon Bolaven hits Primorsky Territory
More than 100 Russian and foreign merchant and fishing ships took shelter last night in harbors of Primorsky Krai (Territory) bracing for Typhoon Bolaven, raging in the Sea of Japan.
Ship captains have been informed in advance about the coming typhoon. They were recommended to change course and take shelter in bays to wait out bad weather. There are over 100 fishing vessels from China and South Korea in the harbors of Olga Bay. The boats were fishing 20-30 miles off the coast of Primorsky Territory.
There are also several dozens of Russian and foreign vessels in Nakhodka Bay and in the other bays of the southern and the northern coast of the region.
Some oil tankers that called at Kozmino Export Oil Terminal for another shipment of crude oil are now at offshore anchorage. Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port and other terminals in the region are shut down for cargo handling. Far Eastern Railway (FEZD) also suspended the movement of passenger and freight trains.
