Divers scanning Aras-1 hull, no visible damages

Divers of a specialized unit of Russian Emergency Ministry have conducted a surveying of the hull of sunken cargo ship Aras-1, RIA Novosti reports citing Tatyana Kobzarenko, the press-secretary of Emergency for the Krasnodar Territory. The team has not found any visible damages to the hull, though the water continues to flow into the ship hold.
The operation will be continued at dawn, Mrs Kobzarenko said, the divers will scan the ship's hull from the outside to find possible damage, so we could empty the hold and start pumping the remaining 17 tons of fuel out from the starboard cargo ship.
Rough weather, heavy rainfall and seas are currently reported in Sochi area.
According to earlier reports heavy seas had caused Aras-1 ship wreckage. Its hull half-broken was swept ashore in Sochi. Dry cargo river-sea "Aras-1" was renovated in 1988, the length of the ship - 138 feet. The emergency ministry said, the ship was carrying 37 tons of fuel, which had been largely pumped out. The crew of 13, four of them Russians, and nine Ukrainians had been rescued. Three tugboats of Sochi sea port took part in the operation
