Baltic Sea highway Klaipeda-Karlshamn to cost over EUR 66 mln
Lithuania expects the assistance of the international transport TEN-T fund to the project on the Baltic sea region highway Klaipeda-Karlshamn.
It is foreseen to be implemented together with partners from Sweden, The Baltic Course reports according to RZD-Partner.
Undersecretary of the State Alminas Maciulis, head of the Lithuanian Transport Ministry delegation, is going to speak about this at the informal meeting of the EU transport ministers in France on Monday, informs ELTA.
According to Maciulis, during the implementation of this project in both sea ports the infrastructure designed for such a line will be maintained in comfortable and modern way. This will help to transfer more cargo from car roads to sea highways. The foreseen value of the project reaches 66.46 million euros, 30% of this sum is financing planned from the EU TEN-T programme finances.
Klaipeda state sea port direction plans to project and erect a hydraulic ro-ro ferries ramp on the 151st quay (2 million euros) and to purchase a drag for 17 million euros.
