Container throughput of Vostochnaya Stevedore Company up 14% to 276,700 TEU in Jan-Aug 08

In January-August, 2008, Vostochnaya Stevedore Company (VSC LLC) handled 276,659 TEU (+14%, year-on-year), VSC press center informs. In the reported period the company handled 109,506 TEU of export containers (+21%, year-on-year) and 160,406 TEU of import containers (+16%). Transshipment of coastal trade containers fell by 35%, year-on-year, to 6,359 TEU, transit containers – by 86% to 388 TEU.

In August, the company’s container throughput increased by 5%, year-on-year, to 34,164 TEU including 15,549 TEU of export containers (+22%) and 17,946 TEU of import containers (-4%). In August transshipment of import containers accounted for 58% of the company’s throughput, export -  39.6%, coastal trade cargo – 2.3%,  transit – 0.1%.


Vostochnaya Stevedore Company LLC is the largest container terminal in the Far East of Russia. It operates at Vostochny port. 25% of the company are owned by port operator DPW, 75% - Global Ports Group (part of N-Trans Group).

Global Ports was set up by N-Trans Group through consolidation of the Group’s terminal assets for further development of port business. GPI Group comprises the terminals at the Baltic Sea and in the Far East – Petrolesport, Moby Dick, Vostochnaya Stevedore Company, Multi-Link Helsinki, Multi-Link Kotka, Vopak E.O.S,   logistic park Yanino and five inland terminals in Finland and Poland.
