Throughput of National Container Company up 19.2% to 1.1 mln TEU in Jan-Aug 08
In January-August 2008, throughput of container terminals of National Container Company (NCC) amounted to 1.169.501 mln TEU (+19.2%, year-on-year), the company’s press center reports.
In the reported period, container throughput of First Container Terminal (St. Petersburg) totaled 711,798 TEU (+15.3%, year-on-year). In August the terminal handled 90,185 TEU (+16%, year-on-year) including 42,458 TEU of export cargo and 47,727 TEU of import cargo. Turnover of refrigerated cargo amounted to 10,431 TEU (+50.7% against August 2007). In August 08, the terminal handled 66 vessels with average turnover of 1,366 TEU per month.
In the 8-month period of the current year, container throughput of Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company of Novorossiysk amounted to 82,483 TEU (-10.8%, year-on-year). In August the terminal handled 11,196 TEU (-13%, year-on-year) including 4,645 TEU of export cargo and 6,551 TEU of import cargo. Loaded/empty containers ratio made 75% against 25% respectively.
In August the terminal handled 11 vessels with average turnover of 1,018 TEU per month.
In January-August 2008, container throughput of UkrTransContainer amounted to 375,220 TEU (+38.3%, year-on-year). In August the terminal handled 50,941 TEU (+32.7%, year-on-year) including 29,071 TEU of export cargo and 21,870 TEU of import cargo. Loaded/empty containers ratio made 53% against 47% respectively.
