OJSC Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port handled 1,204,200 tons of cargoes in January-August 2008; that by 23.4% exceeds the figure of the same period of 2007, the company’s press-service informs.
Transshipment of exported cargoes amounted 539,500 tons (+82%), imported cargoes - 192,400 tons (similar with January-August 2007). The port handled 412,500 tons of coastal cargoes (-6%), 59,600 tons of cargoes not connected with sea goods turnover (+22%).
OJSC Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port is a versatile stevedoring company of the port of Arkhangelsk. It specializes on transshipment of general cargoes, cellulose, containers, timber, metal, fertilizers, heavy equipment, bulk cargoes. Capacities of the port allow to handle 4.5 mln tons of cargoes a year.
