Situated in the Western Shenzhen Port area of South China, Da Chan Bay Terminal One is a new international container terminal serving the pan-Pearl River Delta cargo catchment areas. Da Chan Bay Terminal One covers an area of 112 hectares with five berths along its 1,830 metre long 600 metre wide quayside.
The terminal, which is managed by Modern Terminals, opened with its first two berths in December 2007, and three more berths are scheduled for completion this year. Its current quay depth of 15.5 metres will eventually be dredged to 18 metres to accommodate the world's largest existing and planned container vessels.
