Shenzhen's logistics volume rises in first seven months
SHENZHEN'S logistics volume saw a stable growth in the first seven months with a slowdown in foreign exports, reports Xinhua.
The cargo transport volume of Shenzhen grew 9.5 per cent to 76.7 million tonnes in the first seven months. The cargo turnover volume dwindled 7.3 per cent to 41.7 billion tonnes per km, while the passenger turnover volume rose 16.1 per cent to 20.28 billion people per km. The growth of the cargo and passenger volume has moved much faster than in the previous six months.
The throughput of Shenzhen port rose 12.9 per cent to 124 million tonnes in the first seven months, of which the mail volume was up 18.2 per cent to CNY34.63 billion, or US$5.06 billion.
Shenzhen's foreign trades grew 8.8 per cent in value to $15.96 billion in the first seven months. The imports rose 7.9 per cent in value to $68.24 billion and the exports increased 9.5 per cent to $97.71 billion with a slowdown in the growth compared with that of last year.
