Eurogate Intermodal acquires majority shareholding in Floyd ZRt

Eurogate Intermodal has acquired a 51% majority share in the Budpest, Hungary-based rail transport company Floyd ZRt.

Floyd ZRt has been Eurogate Intermodal's Hungarian partner for its boxXpress.hu operations, the intermodal transport link between Hamburg/Bremerhaven and Budapest, since the service was first introduced.

By acquiring the majority shareholding in Floyd ZRt., Eurogate Intermodal now offers an integrated container service from a single source with a focus on a uniform quality standard along the entire transport chain.

Eurogate Intermodal has operated its international intermodal transport link since May 2006. Rail transport companies Floyd ZRt and TX Logistik Austria GmbH co-operate under the system leadership of boxXpress.de GmbH, Hamburg, also an affiliate of Eurogate Intermodal, to assure rail production services.

Eurogate Intermodal acquired the Floyd shares from András Bogdan, who continues to hold 26% of the shares and will in future assume the role of chairman of the management board of Floyd ZRt.

The remaining 23% of the shares are held by Budapest-based ICE Transport Kft, which is also Eurogate Intermodal's sales agency in Hungary.
