Time of Round tables organized by "PortNews" IAA within international exhibition "Transtek008" (St. Petersburg, "Lenexpo" has been changed. The round table “Prospects of container transfers via Russian internal waterways” will take place on October 7, 2008 at 15.00. The round table “Port service as a tool of increasing ports’ attraction” will take place on October 9 at 10.00.
"PortNews" IAA apologizes for the changes made in the programme. Information about the changes will be sent to all participants who filed applications.
The round table "Port service as a tool of increasing ports’ attraction" is held with assistance of Association of sea commercial ports, with support of "Rosmorport" and Russian association of sea and river of fuelers. Sponsors are Tallinn shipyard, "Gazpromneft marine bunker", St. Petersburg oil terminal. Information support is performed by a daily business newspaper “RBC daily”. The participants of the round table will discuss a number of issues including influence of port service on competitiveness of ports (a speaker will be a representative of "Rosmorport"; safety of mooring operations in seaports taking into account modern technologies (speaker – a representative of LLC "Baltic tugs"; providing ecological safety by waste treatment in ports (speaker – a representative of CJSC "Port fleet"; prospects of construction and reconstruction of port class fleet (speaker – a representative of Tallinn shipyard), and also LARN plan at port terminals.
The round table "Prospects of container transfers via Russian internal waterways" is held with support of Association of navigable companies and Committee on the transport and transit policy of St. Petersburg. Sponsors are a navigable company "Vision Fleet", "Liter", "Grinvej - Customs broker", "Volga-Baltic Logistics Company". Association of ports and ship-owners of river transport assist in organization of the round table. Information support is carried out by a business newspaper “Vedomosti”. The participants of the round table will discuss a number of issues, including development of the Russian market of container transportations, increase of demand for containers transportation in Russian regions, prospects of creation of modern logistics complexes along the Volga-Baltic waterway, prospect of construction of river container vessels. Within the round table it is supposed to discuss issues concerning consrtuction of container terminals on the banks of navigable Russian rivers, specific features of river ports operation with container cargoes, and also foreign experience in container transportations via internal waterways.
Upon the results of the both events the participants will issue recommendations of the round tables.
