Cargo handling in Ukrainian commercial ports up 7% to 124.7 mln t in Jan-Aug 08

In January-August, 2008, cargo handling in Ukrainian commercial and fishing ports grew by 7%, year-on-year, to 124.7 million tonnes, press center of the Ministry of Transport and Communications reports. In the reported period, handling of export cargo grew by 13.2%, import – by 33.2%, year-on-year. The number vessels handled in the ports increased by 11.4%, year-on-year, to 14,700 vessels.
