CMA CGM's Otello is the first ocean carrier to call at Eurogate's Tangier container terminal in Morocco. The carrier discharged five disassembled Kalmar RTGs.
The first regular service to the terminal, to start on October 8, will be CMA CGM's Far East-Northern Europe service (FAL 1), which deploys vessels with a loading capacity of 8,500 TEUs.
The first call will be by La Traviata.
Although the official opening ceremony of Eurogate Tangier is not until next year, it will be fully operational by the end of this year.
