Euromax installs new scanner at Rotterdam terminal
A new scanner has been installed at the Euromax terminal with a capacity to check 150 containers in an hour as opposed to 20 per hour for scanners used elsewhere at the Maasvlakte project in Rotterdam.
The difference lies especially in the fact that the driver no longer needs to step out of the vehicle. Thanks to new technology, the intensity of the radiation is low.
Drivers would have to pass through the scanner 10,000 times a year in order to reach the legal maximum for radiation exposure, while about 50,000 containers are scanned in the whole port each year.
