Eurogate Intermodal Acquires Hungarian rail freight firm Floyd

German operator Eurogate Intermodal GmbH says it has acquired a 51 per cent stake in Hungarian rail transport company Floyd ZRt.
Based in Budapest, Floyd ZRt has been Eurogate Intermodal's Hungarian partner for its boxXpress.hu operations, an intermodal transport link between the German ports of Hamburg/Bremerhaven and Budapest. There are currently six boxXpress.hu departures a week between the two German ports and Budapest Bilk. The handling agency in Budapest is boxXagency Kft, said a report by the UK's Transport Intelligence.
Eurogate Intermodal said it had acquired the shares in Floyd ZRt from previous owner Andras Bogdan, who continues to hold 26 per cent of the shares and would in future assume the role of chairman of the management board of Floyd ZRt. ICE Transport Kft, Budapest, holds the remaining 23 per cent of the shares, which was also the sales agency for Eurogate Intermodal in Hungary, Hong Kong Shipping Gazette reports according to RZD-Partner.
