    Kharis Shipping opens new marine container service to link Pusan and Vostochny ports

    Kharis Shipping Co., Ltd has opened a new marine container service linking S.Korean port Pusan and Russian Far East port Vostochny, press center of Vostochnaya Stevedore Company (VSC, Global Ports Group) informs. In early September the first vessel of the service (Ocean Park, with the capacity of 500 TEU) was handled by the port. The vessels within the framework of this service are supposed to call to VSC once a week.

    Currently the following services are handled by VSC terminal:  Fesco Container Services Co. Ltd.; Sinokor Merchant Marine Co. Ltd.; Sea and Line Co. Ltd.; MKL Shipping LLC; Sea Key Line Co. Ltd.; Korea Marine Transport Co. Ltd.; Pan Continental Shipping Co. Ltd.; Dong Yang Shipping Co. Ltd. and Kharis Shipping Co. Ltd.

    Vostochnaya Stevedore Company LLC is the largest container terminal in the Far East of Russia. It operates at Vostochny port. 25% of the company are owned by port operator DPW, 75% - Global Ports Group (part of N-Trans Group). Current capacity of VSC exceeds 650,000 TEU. Implementation of an investment program is to raise it to 1.1 mln TEU by 1012.   In Jan-Aug 08 the company increased its throughput by 14%, year-on-year to 276,659 TEU.

    Global Ports Investments Ltd (GPI) is one of Russia’s leading operators of container terminals.  In 2007, total throughput of GPI companies amounted to 1.1 mln TEU. Global Ports was set up by N-Trans Group through consolidation of the Group’s terminal assets for further development of port business. GPI Group comprises the terminals at the Baltic Sea and in the Far East – Petrolesport, Moby Dick, Vostochnaya Stevedore Company, Multi-Link Helsinki, Multi-Link Kotka, Vopak E.O.S,   logistic park Yanino and five inland terminals in Finland and Poland.
