New intermodal railoperator Shuttlewise starts a new connection between Rotterdam and Herne
As from October 1, the new intermodal Railoperator Shuttlewise will start a new connection between Rotterdam (Rail Service Center in the Eemhaven area) and Herne (northern Ruhr-area). The initial frequency of the RuhrShuttle is three departures per week and the capacity per train is 80 TEU. Shuttlewise is a joint venture of the Rotterdam based intermodal service provider Den Hartogh Logistics and Husa Capital.
Shuttlewise chose Herne because of the central location in the Ruhr and the number of train connections. With a/o Hungary (Sopron and Budapest), Rumania (Bucarest), Greece (Thessaloniki), Turkey (Istanbul), Sweden (Älmhult, Götenborg und Norrköping), Austria (Hall im Tirol), Italy (Verona) and Northern Germany (Lübeck). From Rotterdam RSC there is a direct connection with the shortsea-terminals and shunting to Maasvlakte.
