Sartor Shipping acquires Ocean Mainport

Sartor Shipping AS and Irish Mainport Holdings Ltd have reached an agreement whereby Sartor Shipping AS, in conjunction with Ogreid AS, has concluded the acquisition of Irish Mainport Holdings' 50 per cent stake in Ocean Mainport Holdings Ltd, with effect from September 30th 2008.
Ocean Mainport Holding was established in 2005, when Irish Mainport Holdings in Ireland and Sartor Shipping AS in Norway joined forces in a 50/50 owned company to combine their North Sea Operations in the multi-role/standby sector.
Ocean Mainport Holdings Ltd is the owner of 16 support vessels operating in both the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.
The operations of the company and its subsidiaries will remain unaffected and are anticipated to expand under the new ownership arrangements.
Irish Mainport will continue to operate tugs, stand by and offshore vessel in Ireland and on a world-wide basis.
The Norwegian shipowning and vessel management company Sartor Shipping has full or part-ownership in 23 offshore support vessels and new ships in order.
In addition the company have management for three other offshore support vessels. The company employs 700 mariners and 40 people on shore at the main office at Sotra outside Bergen and branch offices in Haugesund, Stavanger and Aberdeen.
