In January-September 2008, container throughput of Moby Dick terminal totaled 171,300 TEU (+18.9%, year-on-year), the company’s press center reports. In September the company handled 22,600 TEU (+19.9%, year-on-year).
Container terminal of Moby Dick LLC was put into operation in 2002. It is located in Kronshtadt on Kotlin island. In 2007, container terminal of Moby Dick LLC handled over 200,000 TEU. The terminal is owned on a parity basis by a Finnish corporation Container Finance Group and Global Ports (part of N-Trans Group).
Global Ports Investments Ltd (GPI) is one of Russia’s leading operators of container terminals. In 2007, total throughput of GPI companies amounted to 1.1 mln TEU. Global Ports was set up by N-Trans Group through consolidation of the Group’s terminal assets for further development of port business.
