Ocean Wilsons Holdings, a Bermuda-based supplier of maritime service to Brazil, said its flagship operating company, Wilson Sons, has completed a 920-foot berth expansion at its Rio Grande Container Terminal, the Journal of Commerce reported.
Originally planned for completion in 2012, the $100-million project will enable simultaneous access to more ships than at present and increase annual container capacity to 1.13 million TEUs.
The terminal accounts for 96 percent of the total container cargo moved through the Port of Rio Grande, which is located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil's southernmost state.
