Container throughput of NCC terminals up 18.2% to 1.3 mln TEU in Jan-Sep 08

In January-September In January-September, total container throughput of NCC terminals amounted to 1.311.220 mln TEU (+18.2%, year-on-year), NCC press center reports.Container throughput of First Container Terminal totaled 801,053 TEU (+14.8%, year-on-year)including 89,255 TEU handled in September (+11%). Export amounted to 44,764 TEU, import – 44,491 TEU. In September, turnover of refrigerated containers totaled 9,533 TEU (+24.8%).In the 9-month period, container throughput of Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company of Novorossiysk (NUTEP, port of Novorossiysk) amounted to 87,937 TEU (-13.7%). In September the terminal handled 5,454 TEU (-42%) including 2,731 TEU of export containers and 2,723 TEU of import containers. 2008, container throughput of Ukrtranscontainer totaled 422,230 TEU (+36.3%). In September the terminal handled 47,010 TEU (+21.9%) including 27,000 TEU of export and 20,010 TEU of import. National Container Company (NCC) is the leading Russian operator of container terminals. NCC assets include First Container Terminal (port of St. Petersburg), Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company of Novorossiysk (NUTEP, port of Novorossiysk), Iljichevsk container terminal (Ukrtranscontainer, Ukraine). In 2007, NCC terminals handled over 1.5 mln TEU.
