AADA lowers bunker surcharge

Reflecting recent decrease in the price of oil at Hong Kong and South Korea, the member lines of Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) announced that in accordance with the established review procedures, the Bunker Surcharge level for shipments from China and Hong Kong to ports in Australia will be adjusted down to US$550 per TEU and US$1,100 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers with effect from October 17, 2008 except Taiwan where the effective date for the adjustment will be from November 1, 2008.
Customers requiring further information concerning the Bunker Surcharge are advised to contact the member lines.
AADA members are ANL Singapore Pte Ltd (ANL), China Shipping Container Line (HK), COSCO Container Line, Hamburg Sud (HSDG), Hanjin Shipping, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line), Maersk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC), Mitsui O.S.K. Line (MOL Line).
