In January-September, 2008, Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 4.574.3 million tonnes of cargo (+38.6%, year-on-year), the company informs. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo amounted to 2.257.8 million tonnes (+79.5%) including 1.460 million tonnes of metal and hard components, 233,700 tonnes of containerized cargo (73,050 TEU).
Transshipment of import cargo totaled 1.457 million tonnes (+16.6%, year-on-year) including 649,100 tonnes of containerized cargo (66,630 TEU), 417,000 tonnes of automobiles and equipment (191,322 units), 116m000 tonnes of bulk raw sugar.
In the 9-month period the port handled 859,600 tonnes of coastal trade cargo (+8.4 %, year-on-year) including 546,400 tonnes of containerized cargo (56,266 TEU) and 251,300 tonnes of liquid bulk oil cargo.
Metal and hard components accounted for 33% of the port’s total throughput, or 1.508.7 million tonnes); containers – 31.2%, or 1.429.1 million tonnes (195,946 TEU); general cargo -
20.3%, or 926,400 tonnes including automobiles and equipment accounting for 9.1% of the company’s total throughput. 9.3% of total throughput falls on bulk cargo, which is 426,500 tonnes including 218,300 tonnes of bulk scrap metal, 116,000 tonnes of raw sugar, 15,600 tonnes of bulk clinker, 13,700 tonnes of grain. Oil cargo account for 5.6% of the port’s total throughput, or 256,600 tonnes. Timber – 0.4%, or 19,100 tonnes.
In the reported period the port handled 54,097 wagons and 2,392 vessels.
